Phnom Penh Area Guide: BKK1 – The Expat Heaven
Rarely referred to by its real name, Boeng Keng Kang Ti Muoy. BKK1 has undoubtedly earned its name as the expat quarter and most convenient section of the capital for the last couple of decades. It is a perfect place for individuals looking for a pleasant and interesting lifestyle in the city because of its broad selection of vertical residences, vibrant social scene, walkable living, and welcoming atmosphere.

Situated Southeast of the Independence Monument and at the Northern end of Sihanouk Blvd (274). It shares a border with Norodom (41), Mao Tse Tung (245), and Monivong Blvd (93).
As the original home of many of the country’s NGO headquarters and once home to roads lined with spacious leafy villas, the majority have now been torn down and replaced with modern condo blocks, serviced apartments, flashy hotels, chain coffee shops, fast-food joints, restaurants, pubs, nightclub, and bars.

Livability
BKK1 may be best defined as the busiest commercial center, borders Tonle Bassak District – the 2nd busiest commercial center of Phnom Penh. It has gone under rapid development since the early 2000s – is currently the fastest-growing neighborhood and most desirable place to live.
