Phnom Penh Area Guide: Prampir Makara (7 Makara)
Prampir Makara (7 Makara) is more resided by local residents, however, like other suburbs of the city, Prampir Makara has gone through some residential development after the foreign population overflowed from Daun Penh in recent years. The area is also known for its architectural landmark, the Olympic National Stadium – a national multi-sports complex – which was designed by the late Father of Cambodian Modern Architecture, Vann Molyvann.
The district is geographically viewed on the map at the heart of Phnom Penh. It is circled by Russian Federation Blvd. to the North, Monivong Blvd. (93) to the East, Preah Sihanouk Blvd. (274) to the South, and Jawaharlal Nehru Blvd. (215) to the North.

Livability
Prampir Makara (7 Makara) is a relatively safe and convenient district to live in, with a good selection of amenities and services. It is popular amongst young expats and single individuals. In terms of convenience, the section doesn’t offer anything less than Daun Penh, but is more affordable. The traffic can be heavy, especially during rush hours.
In contrast to Daun Penh and BKK, Prampir Makara gives more localized lifestyle, experience, and traditions. During the daytime, Olympia City, Chip Mong Bak Touk Center, and Olympic Stadium are there to explore. Meanwhile, for the nightlife scene, there isn’t much to deliver in this quarter.
Olympic Stadium
Olympic National Stadium is the best-known landmark in Prampir Makara (7 Makara) and has been serving as the national multi-sports complex since its erections in the early 1960s. The complex was designed by the late Father of Cambodian Modern Architecture, Vann Molyvann.
Orussey Market
Orussey Market is the biggest traditional market and lively commercial center for Cambodians. Anything can be found, but not recommended if you are in a hurry or want to get souvenirs which you can get from Russian Market or Central Market. Orussey has 3-floor stalls:
Ground floor houses various kinds of food, kitchenware, tools, garden equipment, and electronics. Clothes, accessories, tailors, curtains, jewelry, and fabric can be found on the first and second floors.
